I have been listening to and watching some of the scenes from the Gaza pullout today (the Synagogue holdout in particular).

It was sad to watch. The Israeli forces had to forcibly remove what are their own bothers and sisters heritage (other Israelis). What would it be liked to be forced to move from your home and your city? Maybe some good will eventually come out of all this and produce some type of peace with them and the Palestinians. I don’t understand the hatred between the two but I guess this is something that has been brewing for hundreds of years.

Anyway, back to the Synagogue holdout… It was quite a scene to see on TV, watching the final “Israeli holdouts” on the roof pouring oil, foam, and sand down onto the Israeli forces below. It got pretty dangerous, but neither side used any deadly force (the army had no weapons on them at at). There were only a few relatively minor injuries.

As nightfall began, a few of the final holdouts on the roof decide to make peace of sorts and were shown standing on the roofing standing arm in arm with those who came to remove them.
Here is a pic of the Synagogue where this all began.
